The SAGE Project is funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The goal of this grant is to look at the traditional activities that kept our communities healthy, and using the knowledge of our elders, implement those practices to create a healthier future.
The SAGE Project is a unique program that works to supplement and enhance existing services at UAII by bring several departments together to better serve our community.
Working with the UAII Senior Program, we will bring the knowledge of our community elders to our youth and create an area for discussion and learning.
The SAGE Project will support the Archery Program of the American Indian Clubhouse. We will be working to highlight more aspects of our culture in this program.
Working with the Health Project, we will explore a variety topics including outdoor activities like community gardening and leading a healthy lifestyle.
